This Island

Himalayan Climbing Expedition

Short Documentary Film
Miyar Valley Short documentary film about a group of ace Indian rock climbers embark on a high altitude climbing expedition (Toro Peak, 4860 meters above sea level) in Miyar valley of the Himalayan mountain range, India. Two new climbing routes were set and first accents were made.
Mountain Echoes Literature Festival 2013

Mountain Echoes literary festival is an initiative of the India Bhutan Foundation, in association with Siyahi a literary consultancy. It brings together writers, biographers, historians, environmentalists, scholars, photographers, poets, musicians, artists, film-makers to engage in cultural dialogue, share stories, create memories and spend three blissful days in the mountains. This 3 day festival enjoys the patronage of Her Majesty the Royal Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck.

Short Documentary Film
Documentary on the live open air theatre performance RamLeela – the story of most celebrated Indian mythological character Lord Rama. With of the advent of digital media and varied sources of entertainment, the charm of live performance is on the decline. But the tradition performers continue to perform in honour of this age old art form. Men play the women’s parts on stage, and women are barred from being a part of the troupe for the fear of tarnishing the sanctity of this bachelors’ run travelling troupe.
Inspiring Stories – Girivihar Climbing Competition

While climbing as a sport was still in its nascent stage, a group of climbing enthusiasts were stirring up a sports revolution in a newly developing city of Navi Mumbai. Girivihar Bouldering Competition, attended by ace international climbers, attracted many young aspiring climbers from unassuming corners of India. This is one such story.
